The Role:
Provide overall leadership, vision and effective management to company personnel with clear and consistent directives, in order to ensure day-to-day progress of the organization as per corporate objectives
Major Responsibilities:
• Adhere to the policies / directions of the Chairman of the BoD in order to ensure compliance with the mission of the organization
• Assess departmental performance and delivery and take corrective actions when needed, to ensure that the strategies are well moving from top to bottom and in the right direction
• Ensure a solid organizational governance system is in place to maintain the right balance between different stakeholders as well as create internal control tools
• Represent the company in local press and media communities or wherever applicable to have a single point of contact and a uniform external message circulating across the market. At the same time, coordinate with the head-office for such events.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor news to better understand the business and put in place the right strategies
• Promote, participate in and monitor Public Relations activities to ensure being close with both customers and decision takers
• Identify business opportunities and pursue sales lead, to make sure that the business is growing in the right direction
• Manage key client relationships (existing and prospective) to ensure maintenance of existing accounts as well as growing further
• Delegate responsibility to subordinates and maintain a minimal interference in day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency
• Coach, counsel and discipline department/functional heads in order to prepare the next generation of leaders in the unit
• Liaise with the HR department head to ensure employee development and training programs are being implemented
• Sponsor the performance management system and ensure objectives tied-up to organizational goals are disseminated
• Oversee preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly management reviews in order to have an overview of the progress on the financial side
• Take responsibility for delivering on set budgets / target being an owner of a P&L
• Report periodically to the Board of Directors about the operational and financial performance of the unit to key stakeholder’s alignment.
• Oversee operational activities ensuring they are aligned with company policies and processes in order to ensure an overview of the progress of the company’s operational mission
• Ensure vendors / suppliers are properly engaged with commercially viable agreements; meeting company needs so that the procurement / supply strategy is realistic and financially sound
• Maintain quality service delivery to customers by establishing and enforcing organization standards which will maintain the perception of our products as high quality
• Any other relevant task as may be deemed necessary
