A construction company in Dubai is looking for a Senior Estimator with 8 to 10 years of UAE experience in the Construction Division. The candidate shall be proficient in the following:
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of lump sum, construction management and conceptual estimating and preparing the final bid and submitting it to the client/owner.
- Participate in project development activities including scope definition and clarification, preconstruction planning, control estimate development and delivery.
- Visiting construction sites as needed to perform job site surveys and/or participate in preconstruction job site meetings.
- Provide preconstruction services including the preparation of preliminary budgets, cost plans, and value engineering opportunities
- Determine general expenses and provide input into the margins/fees.
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials and carefully reviewing subcontractor bid packages to ensure all scope items are included in their bids.
- Pricing direct cost items and resolving cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Understanding of unit pricing
- Assisting in project planning and scheduling
- On occasion, responsible for providing value engineering and making recommendations for alternatives when appropriate or at the client’s request.
- Time Management - multi-tendering, budgeting etc.
- Proficient computer use - Microsoft Office, Autocad and other relevant software.
