The primary duties and responsibilities of the SAT Desk Manager include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the day-to-day Satellite Desk and Lines staff and operations.
Analyzing workflow for the Satellite Desk and Lines operations to optimize efficiency and minimize discrepancies.
Ensuring end-to-end coordination for successful execution of live and recorded transmissions worldwide.
Coordinating across MBN and lead execution of coverage for planned events, special events and breaking news.
Conducting weekly satellite desk meetings to review and minimize discrepancies and performance.
Communicating regularly and effectively with News and Programming to ensure appropriate production support.
Ensuring all bookings are entered into ScheduAll, tracking resources and costs daily; assign incoming and outgoing fiber connectivity and satellite transmission to and from MBN in ScheduAll.
Coordinating with Ingest on source and destination assignments to and from AVOC.
Sourcing and scheduling location production crews and services, including edit and feed as needed.
Reconciling invoices against work orders in ScheduAll.
Maintaining related computer databases.
Ensuring compliance with all Department and MBN policies and procedures.
Developing and managing staff effectively including scheduling, providing timely performance feedback, and communicating expectations, goals and objectives.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional related duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.
