About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and oversee our compliance, AML/CFT, and regulatory programs within our gold and precious metals trading business. The successful candidate will ensure the company complies with all applicable UAE regulations, including AML/CFT requirements, sanctions compliance, KYC/CDD obligations, and regulatory reporting.

This role requires a proactive compliance professional with strong knowledge of the UAE regulatory framework for Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones (DPMS) and experience working within the gold or precious metals trading industry.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance and AML/CFT framework in line with UAE regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulations applicable to the gold and precious metals trading industry.
Oversee KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, and customer onboarding processes.
Monitor transactions and identify suspicious or unusual activities.
Review and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other regulatory filings through the goAML system.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to mitigate regulatory risks.
Monitor regulatory developments and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and external audits.
Deliver compliance and AML training to employees and promote a strong compliance culture.
Prepare compliance reports and provide guidance to senior management on regulatory matters.
Liaise with regulators, financial institutions, auditors, and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
CAMS, ICA, or an equivalent compliance certification is preferred.
5–8 years of compliance experience, including at least 3 years in a Compliance Manager or similar role within a gold trading, bullion, precious metals, or jewelry company.
Strong knowledge of UAE AML/CFT regulations, sanctions compliance, KYC/CDD/EDD requirements, and goAML reporting.
Experience working with the UAE Ministry of Economy (MOE) regulatory framework for Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones (DPMS).
Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AML monitoring and sanctions screening systems is an advantage.
