About the job

As Creative Director of Semisweet, you will be the keeper of the brand's taste and image across the UAE. Reporting directly to the Owner and sitting on the leadership team, you will own everything our customers see, taste and touch: products, packaging, brand identity, store design and content. Nothing reaches a customer without your sign-off, so that every dessert, every cup of coffee and every touchpoint builds desirability and supports Semisweet's growth in retail, delivery and B2B.

This is a hands-on role in a growing company. At first you will taste, style, brief and approve yourself, supported by a small team. As we grow, you will build the creative function under you, starting with a Head of Product.

Job responsibilities

Product & Menu

Set the creative direction for desserts, coffee and drinks, and lead every new product from brief to launch
Build a focused menu around signature products, write the specs our kitchen and coffee teams follow, and sign off every product before it reaches customers

Brand & Design

Own the brand identity and all design work: packaging, cups, menus, website, app and sales materials
Direct photography, video and social content, and plan seasonal collections three months ahead

Store Experience

Shape interiors, displays, signage and uniforms so that each shop works as the brand's strongest piece of marketing

Team & Budget

Lead the creative team and freelancers, and manage the creative budget
Partner with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to turn launches into sales

Profile

Experience: 8+ years in pastry, food, hospitality or consumer brands, including 3+ years leading creative or product development, with a portfolio of launches you have led.

Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UAE and GCC food, cafe and dessert scene, and of what local customers value.

About Semisweet: a Dubai dessert and coffee company. We bake fresh every morning in our Al Safa kitchen and serve our shops in Dubai and Sharjah, the delivery apps, and cafes and offices across the UAE.
