A leading UAE financial institution are recruiting a Vice President to establish the Risk and Compliance framework for the Internal Audit function.
You will play the lead role in establishing the governance, compliance & risk (GCR) framework with guidelines, and continuously monitor and ensure organizational wide implementation. You will also develop, initiate, maintain, and review on a periodic basis, policies & procedures for operation of GCR programs and associated activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct across a diversified cluster of entities which operate within the Group. You will implement and communicate a GCR Strategy to Executive Management, including approaches that encourage employees to report suspected fraud & other improprieties without fear of retaliation.
The initial phase of the role will be to initiate and participate in all compliance risk assessments; and rate and rank, in cooperation with Business management, the compliance risks. Following on from this you will be reporting risk assessments to board and executive management and committee assigned to oversee compliance and to ensure effective implementation of compliance issues & requirements.
Functional experience will consist of 8 to 10 years in a similar role with operational, regulatory, legal responsibilities. Banking sector experience with knowledge of regulatory environments within the financial services sector is preferred. Leadership/Supervisory: At least 6 years' progressive leadership responsibility in an organization of similar scope and size
The candidate should have at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Law, Accountancy, Business Administration or other relevant field. Master's in Law and Business Administration is desirable. Any globally recognized certification in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) would be an added advantage. Excellent English communication skills (Verbal and Drafting) and ability to present his/her ideas in a concise and precise fashion is a must.
Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
