Company Brief:
Our client is a global leader in Insurance and Re-insurance solutions, seeking to recruit “Head of General Insurance” for Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Position will be reporting to the Branch Manager.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accounting, or any equivalent
• 3 - 5 years of experience in the General Insurance Field
• Knowledgeable of the processes, procedures and operations of insurance firms and brokerages
• Knowledgeable of local laws and practices related to medical insurance
• Must be detailed oriented and result driven
• Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus
• Abide by established branch policies and procedures, at all times
• Develop and manage relationships with insurance companies
• Negotiate with insurance companies for best policy terms and conditions, as well as rates and commissions
• Communicate to the sales team the required documents and info for each insurance product (i.e. proposal form, clauses, product information, etc.)
• Keep updated on market changes and regulations, and ensure full compliance
• Prepare/review proposals and quotations and make sure it adapts to client needs
• Propose policy enhancements to better suit the technical standards and the requirements of the business development team
• Oversee issuance of quotations, negotiate & take decisions on business transactions in line with underwriting guidelines
• Assist the sales team in client visits until closing of deals whenever required
• Ensure proper placements with insurance companies and negotiate brokerage commissions
• Prepare, review and validate placement slips
• Ensure all requirements are sent to insurance companies on time
• Monitor policy histories and expiry of contracts, and manage remedial measures
• Provide pre-underwriting for medical insurance products
• Keep detailed records of all policies underwritten and decisions made
• Provide information to the sales team about the prevailing underwriting guidelines of various insurance companies
• Coordinate with the operations department regarding offers, issuance of policies, renewals, etc.
• Make sure business is acquired within acceptable margins
• Ensure that after-sales services and policy management is done as per company standards
• Performs any other ad-hoc tasks and duties as requested by management
