Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a strategic, efficient and flexible procurement service which will deliver optimum value for money, cost savings and best quality of service.
- Assist in and supervise the procurement of goods and services and other
procurement activities such as the tender process, grant requirements, supplier relationships and contract management for goods and services. - Supervises the Quality Control functions/activities, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.
- Advise and support staff in procurements and supplier relationships helping to drive better procurement practices.
- Assist in the development of internal procedures and documentation in relation
to local and overseas procurement. - Assist in managing commercial and reputational risks in its relations with external suppliers.
- Supports the Plant Managers in dealing with the Client for all the Quality matters.
- Assess the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on site.
- Determining, negotiating and implementing in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Assess customer requirements and ensuring that these are met.
- Specify and monitor quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers.
- Investigating and setting standards for quality, health and safety and ensuring that the manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level.
- Monitor and supervise inspections, collect reports and file the required Quality Records.
- Assist some teams with purchases and order enquiries.
- Ensure purchases are properly approved in terms of published authority levels and purchases are raised using the electronic purchase-to-pay system
- Granting specific requirements and best practices for local and overseas procurement.
- Administering supplier contracts
- Leading and monitoring supplier relationships
- Assisting in the implementation of supplier contracts
- Assisting in the ordering of key supplies and acting as a purchaser for some teams
- Helping to drive better procurement practice across the group.
- Communicating opportunities to achieve better value for money through better procurement practices
- Record, analyze and distribute statistical information and communicate improved ways of working.
- Any other procurement or buying requirements as requested by the Management Team
