Global Village is currently looking to hire a "Rides Technical Supervisor" on a full-time employment contract. The main task is to to plan, manage and oversee Ride Technical Services for Global Village Carnaval Area, during off season (maintenance) and during on season (safety checks, planned and reactive maintenance and dealing with any ride stoppages).
This position is responsible to manage the repair, maintenance and inspection of all amusement rides and devices at Global Village Carnaval keeping Safety as the top priority. Ensures compliance with all applicable requirements and standards. Maximizes ride availability during operational hours. Directs the Hiring, training, and development of subordinate staff.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Ensures the Safety of Guests and Employees all the times.
• Manages and coordinates all mechanical, electrical and AV maintenance as it relates to rides, machinery, equipment, welding and vehicles
• Manages and coordinates with the process of identifying, finding, ordering and storing parts and supplies.
• Takes active responsibility for ride technical stoppages and management of them whilst the park is open
• Manages and supervise the maintenance team to perform frequent daily site inspections of ongoing work, and review of upcoming work. Check the attractions frequently for any needed repairs and maintenance. Ensures all such checklists and reports are captured via ride maintenance software, if available.
• Coaches and counselling employees as needed.
• Communicates with other department staff members who have an interest in or may be affected by the work.
• Liaise with all relevant government authorities as it relates to Carnaval operations. Liaise with DM Public Safety Department to obtain NOC’s for all rides prior to operations.
• Prepare and monitor reports as required by the management.
• Ensures all new employees have been adequately trained to safely perform their work, and document all training as it occurs
• Conducts continuous safety inspections to identify and correct hazards
• Ensures proper use of machines, tools and equipment, and ensures that the employees are properly instructed and trained
• Inspects/checks and approves opening, suspension and re-opening of rides and attractions.
• Provides a work environment that demonstrates leadership, cooperation, policy enforcement, safety, communication, and motivation.
• Works closely with Ride Operations and the Operations Departments to ensure proper service.
• Assists as needed, Technical Services team or Operations team crews with daily tasks.
• Employee scheduling and enforcement.
• Financial Management, Budgeting, tracking, within direct responsibility.
• Reviews daily schedule, priorities, and estimates for ongoing and future projects with the Line Manager and other concerned departments on a regular basis.
• Plays a key role in carrying out accident / incident investigation, as needed
• Enforces and adheres to all Department and Park policies and guidelines.
• Assists other departments as requested.
• Coordinates with Third Party Inspection bodies to carry out all required initial approval and independent thorough inspections for the rides and devices.
• Manages and stores all ride documents, drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, schematics, maintenance checklist, maintenance records, incident reports and training records.
• Coordinates with ride manufacturer regarding spare parts, technical discussions, warranty relates and any other matters, as required.
• Follow all GV policies as they relate to general office protocol and specifically for Carnaval operations and park safety.
• Ensures that any risks identified are Risk Assessed and that these are recorded and reported immediately.
• Ensures that any accidents and incidents are recorded and reported in an appropriate manner.
• Actively promote a strong HSE culture amongst staff and contractors within Carnaval
• Manages maintenance and repair of facility electrical and general lighting equipment.
• Manages maintenance and repair of Global Village owned assets as required
• Oversees maintenance during operations (i.e. during season), pre-opening set-up of all rides, dismantling/close-out of all rides after the season and off-season.
• keeping up-to-date of developments in the industry, both internal and external, such as changes in legislation;
• Manages Carnaval developments, improvements, including ride design
• Liaises with contractors, e.g. for the installation and integration of facilities;
Other duties as may be assigned.
