Job Description:
The employee will be responsible for the refurbishment and testing processes of dry gas seals in the Dubai service center, this will include working to monthly forecasts, test plans, and supplying monthly KPI reports to service team leader.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The DGS Engineer will perform activities related to the repair and manufacture of refurbished DGS.
Those activities include:
- Strip, inspect and assemble dry gas seals.
- Complete the grooving activities for repair
- Dismantling and cleaning of seals and parts under repair.
- Assemble and repair mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications.
- Define and write strip and inspection reports
- Complete the set up and test of different types/sizes of dry gas seals
- Manual machining of components where required.
- Lapping, polishing and cleaning when necessary following the set standard processes.
- Scheduling DGS assembly and testing activities to meet monthly forecasts
- Monitor and supply monthly KIP’s to service team leader
- Support TURBO team and RCA investigations
- Customer facing during witness inspections and testing
- Support other regional John Crane sites in DGS activities during high work loads
