The Operations Director is responsible to supervise and contribute to the successful leadership and management of Project Management and Production according to the strategic direction and supervision of the Chief Executive Officer.

Description:

Develop and implement the organizations operations strategy in line with achieving the company’s delivery targets and cashflow objectives

Deliver operational elements, demonstrating commercial focus, a structured approach, intelligence and enthusiasm

Along with the Chief Executive Officer, prepare, gain acceptance of the annual operational resources to ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue generation is maximized, and that excessive utilization of resources are minimized

Represent the Company in negotiations with clients, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the Company

Responsible for the management and positive development of a range of strategic and operational relationships external to the company, working with other agencies at strategic level, in support of mutually beneficial approaches.

Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with suppliers/contractors, major clients, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the Company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services and has the necessary structure to remain performant.

Contribute to the development of company’s operational strategy through a thorough, current understanding of the local and international markets including local competitive forces that will help increase the company’s market share opportunities

To establish, in conjunction with Production and Project Management Directors to monitor, clear performance targets, both quantitative and qualitative, to significantly improve operational performance

Review of existing operations processes and procedures. Constantly challenge processes or practices and follow through to a satisfactory outcome

Develop and maintain research and development programs to ensure that the Company remains at the forefront in the industry, applies the most cost-effective methods and approaches, provides leading-edge projects and services and retains its competitive edge methods and approaches, provides leading-edge projects and services and retains its competitive edge

Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the Company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Nominating a deputy to carry out the responsibilities of the position in case of absence or whenever the need arises

Provide leadership across the project management and production teams

Effective communication in managing, monitoring, and coaching line managers by being in regular contact with each team and ensuring that information is communicated throughout the departments

Create an environment that motivates the team ensuring that they are fully aware of what is expected of them and recognizes their success. This includes providing appropriate level of staff training, setting performance benchmarks, managing individual career developments and identifying areas for improvement

Lead by example by embracing our clients’ culture, policies and procedures

Uphold the company confidentiality of information agreement at all times

Participate in company team building activities and treat colleagues with due respect

Represent the values (Trust, respect, unity, commitment) of the company internally and externally to all stakeholders

Maintaining a dialogue with the Chief Executive Officer for any updates and challenges in operations including risk management, value creation and how to optimize the business by providing insight and robust reports to support decision-making
